Ways to help

Money helps. So do shoes, Saturdays and a good accountant.

There is more than one way to be useful here, and some of the most valuable things we receive never touch a bank account. Here is every route in, with the honest version of what each one does.

Six ways in

Pick whichever one fits your life

None of these is a lesser option. The homework room volunteer and the $5,000 donor are solving different halves of the same problem.

Give money

From $50 to $5,000, arranged over WhatsApp or Telegram.

The most flexible help there is. Choose an amount, choose a purpose, and finish the gift with a coordinator. No card payments and no automatic checkout — a real person handles it end to end.

Send a gift card

Physical or electronic. Grocery, pharmacy and stationery cards work hardest.

E-gift cards can be sent straight to risinghopeorphanage@gmail.com. For a physical card, message us first for current posting instructions. Please never post codes or PINs publicly — private message or email only.

Sponsor a program

Take on one line of the monthly budget.

A term of school fees, a month of clinic supplies, the kitchen gas bill. Sponsors get the monthly figures for their line, including the months when the number is bad.

Donate goods

Food staples, school supplies, bedding, clothing and shoes.

We keep a live list of what the house actually needs so nothing arrives that we cannot store. Message the care team before sending anything and we will send the current list.

Give your time

Homework room, kitchen, repairs, or professional skills from anywhere.

About forty volunteers keep this place running. The homework room needs readers on weekday afternoons; the Saturday feeding point needs hands from nine. Remote help with accounts, design and grant writing is just as welcome.

Volunteer with us

Fundraise where you live

A birthday, a run, a church collection, a workplace match.

Tell us what you are planning and we will send you the figures, the photos we are allowed to share, and a short note about where the money will go so you can answer questions honestly.

Volunteer

Come for one Saturday and see

Most of our volunteers started by turning up once. The homework room runs weekday afternoons from four; the feeding point runs Saturdays from nine.

Anyone working directly with children completes a safeguarding check before their first unaccompanied session.

Remote volunteering is real volunteering — accounts, grant writing, design and translation all save us money we would otherwise spend.

Businesses & congregations

Partnerships, matched giving and corporate gifts

If your workplace matches donations, or your congregation wants to take on a program line for a year, we will put together the figures and a short reporting schedule so your people can see exactly what happened.

Matched giving

We supply receipts and a summary your finance team can file.

Program sponsorship

Take one budget line for a term or a year, with monthly figures.

Skills partnerships

Legal, medical, accounting and trades — the help we cannot buy.

Collections & drives

We send the current needs list so nothing arrives that we cannot use.

Give today

The simplest help is still a gift
